My little darling

13.3

POUNDS. This kid is getting big quick. A hearty 7.7 pounds & 20 inches, 2 weeks early, he came. We bought a scale for the specific purpose of weighing this growing babe. Also, I like to check pre & post poops… Uh, for myself. If you don’t do this, you should certainly try. I pooped 1.1 pounds just this morning! I’m beaming with pride. My grandfather’s analogy for a growing baby is their body is…

Home breakfast

Hot link, egg scramble with avo, Munster cheese & spinach. Toast. But first I had my mom’s red bean soup. Simple & nutritious. I used to love to go out for brunch or breakfast but now with a little baby who is peacefully sleeping on our bed, life is better now. It’s a funny thing, parenthood. To be my most authentic self, I always cared about the development of this. Now as a mother, I…

Poop M.O.

Every baby has a poop modus operandi. How they poop, what faces they make, what their cry signal is… Mine in particular likes to utilize a part cry, part struggling whine while he engages in number two. Often visitors will think he’s pooping but he’s just tooting away. By tooting, I’m referring to his seemingly favorite hobby of flatulence. Oh here he goes again… What we find is a surprise nearly every time.

Earl Grey pudding, I adore thee

Oh boy, just you wait until little sister tries this. She’s going to lose it. This pudding is fantastic. Let me tell you why. The thickness of the grey pudding is just right. Not the light stuff. You could call it… Grey matter! Ha! A perfect explanation for a pudding so simple & decadent at the same time. I did something. I put it in the freezer to see how it stacks up frozen. I’ve…

You are soup and I am sandwich

Had a old San Franciscan staple for lunch earlier, clam chowder at Boudin. Once passing by a restaurant praising their chowder on Fisherman’s Wharf, they said theirs was, “fat free… You get all the fat for free!” Sounds like a bargain to me. Soup and sandwich (or soup and salad for Calm) is best enjoyed with an old friend.

Hot pressed redemption

Photo credit: ST So back at Swich. Yeah, this is basically a blog about them, I guess. When I get into a place, I’m ALL IN. Just take Bubbies ice cream in Hawaii for example. It was a daily venture for their mochi ice cream. Also, with a new baby, I’m a little constricted with my time & distance. Good thing nearby is food sanctuary. There is a God! Since I’m already a fan of…

Profiterole Bankruptmerole

Another delight from Swich, my new favorite dessert spot. Honestly, the profiterole was not my favorite, despite it having coffee ice cream sandwiched in between with almond slices as garnishment. I really love pastries. Good pastries. Hot, fresh out of the oven pastries. Luckily, that banana cream pie I was drooling about earlier was clear and certain redemption. The pie, a perfect cube, is carefully constructed with large chucks of banana & its cream. A…

The big deal

SHAKE SHACK LOVE

Photo credit: The Epoch Times Do you even know me? If you did, you’d know I have a burning love for Shake Shack. This is the epitome of a perfect burger. Perfect bun, beautifully fried portobello mushroom, delectable sauce & juicy beef patty. I talk about it regularly. It’s like saying, hey how’s your aunt Jane. I say, hey I want Shake Shack. Still too far for NorCal; LV is the closest. But it’s still…
