Goodbye Burma. Hello Chick-fil-A

This spicy chicken deluxe sandwich made my day.  The new Fremont location knows what’s up.  In sending our friend Kelvin off, we stumbled upon this wonderful establishment.  Always do spicy chicken. Always do deluxe. It’s like a hotel. Deluxe accommodations, amirite? This was baby’s first real BBQ outing; he did great. I was a nervous new mommy about the sun, smoke & other pollutants but I think we did great.  Soon I’ll be brave…

The big deal

Happy 31st Birthdays boys!

To commiserate how awesome us girls are, we take our birthday boys to Bobo’s on Lombard for their slabs of meat.  The crab cakes are divine; perfectly crisp & all crab, no fillers to hold us down.  Known for their bone-in filet mignons, this cut is basically butter on a bone. I could eat this all day. I was tempted to get the Porterhouse, which is 49+ ounces of steak perfection, but alas, reasonableness set…

Sweets before dinner

Okay it was really after lunch. Like literally leave the restaurant post-lunch & wait for Creations to open for dessert.  Life is so good. Baby had the house made ice cream: coconut & papaya with mochi. Fresh fruit. Mom had the sweet milk butter toast & coconut, mango, aloe drink. Life is really awesome. Especially when I eat super good food. I love snacks!

Bath time is the best time

Cleaning ritual

First time bathing baby without getting in the tub too.  I guess it can be done! Kind of a back breaker but I know not any other technique.  No wonder my mom says I caused her back pain.  This baby better learn some massage techniques so I can get a backrub down after he gets his tub down! Baby isn’t too enthusiastic about tummy time these days. Sorry kid, it’s on the agenda so it…

Prince’s favorite

Since baby likes it here so much, we are back at Prince’s Cooking.  This time we got to try their salmon, baked chicken stuffed with avocado, some potato crispies, & their spaghetti.  The salmon was cooked well & fresh. The chicken, on the other hand, was a bit dry & just a tiny little thing. The other chicken dishes tried at our table (not pictured), teriyaki & curry style were moist & didn’t…

Mom hack

Man in the mirror

Struggling to put baby in the carrier, look no further than your lengthwise mirror for a helpful guide in positioning baby.  Baby’s not going to tell you that his leg is all funny in the carrier or his shirt is all rolled up (well, maybe he’ll cry).  I did this to get him in and again when I had to restrap him in after we took a break while we’re out. The reflection on a…

A walk in the park

Turns into an adventure for a snack. What’s new? We didn’t actually make it to the park. We were across the street from it. But a detour took us sniffing for something for the belly.  Ah, Crepe Temptations. And tempting you are. I opted for the savory Philly cheesesteak crepe in honor of my BFF’s upcoming nuptials. Congrats AC! The 15 minute wait was sort of worth it. It was filled with meat, cheese, onions…

Family dinner

Chinese again. Our family doesn’t mind because we are all happy. Sweet & sour pork, a childhood favorite.  Happily munching away on pork belly. We love fat. Next comes the chicken. It’s served chilled with a ginger sauce. Let’s not forget the veggies! My family knows I always want us eating veggies. Good for you & tasty too! A speedy meal but a good one. Thanks family. You drive me crazy sometimes but the…

My little darling

Three months go by so fast

It’s like summer vacation. You’re jumping up & down because it’s summer break & next thing you know classes are back on.  Same thing with this baby.  Just born & boom! Three months old today.  Celebrated with a cake of the sponge variety. Not too sweet because that’s what Chinese people like. They hate ganache.  Happy three months, little Prince! We adore you so.
