Stressorama

Baby’s getting ready for college. Go Cardinals!  A wee bit stressful today with family drama. Manageable. Perhaps if I was working I could more easily avoid these messy situations. Or not.  Ah, the SAHM dilemma. I am happy at home, savoring my little gem. Feels a bit wasteful of my continually accruing interest of an education. Helping others is very important to me & remains the cornerstone of what I hope my career to be…

The big deal

The Presidential

Finally.  My previous attempt to get four people to share the six person presidential at 4505 BBQ & Burgers was a fail.  But now! But now six hungry girls squeezed into a small wooden bench outside in 57 degree weather surround the platter of brisket, ribs, chicken tenders & other succulent meats.    Luckily the girls were on board to have burgers too.     Aren’t my friends awesome? Yes, they are. Truly California’s best…

Gratitude

Four month sweet spot

For a long time in my life, I felt I was on the brink of something. Insane courage. Exceptional something.  Turns out, I think it was motherhood. Miraculous parenting. I’m really happy.  My baby is quite a doll. He’s so lively and darling. Don’t get me wrong; he’s got blowout diapers, cryathons, weird rashes… But I can’t help but to be utterly in love with him.  Living in San Francisco isn’t easy. It’s expensive and…

Club mommy

Mommy & baby play date. Thrice the fun.  Babies seemed thrilled (maybe) to be amongst their own kind. This mommy found it to be a relief to share our mommy woes and wins.  Since we had three breastfeeders in our midst, we had a heavy order at King of Thai. What was first going to be a pleasant walk for eats, turned out to be a lovely take out sesh, after the little darlings were…

Eating in bed

Got our new bed today! New bed smell at our place.  A little Spiral sushi & japanese eats for early dinner. Bento boxes for hungry mommies.    We love happy hour. Sometimes, we even drink! A lion king roll fit for a baby prince. I like it because it’s baked & it has cream cheese. Win!    Later, an impromptu dessert, drinks & snacks run with my favorites. Oh, you know, just ordering all the…

Baby firsts

Easter Sunday

Celebrating baby’s first Easter!  He’s a little cutie, enjoying our old bed for the last time. Tomorrow we get our new bed! Whoo hoo! Finally a bed big enough to share with a little baby with a big sense of space.  Playing “Wahine Ilikea” by the Ka’au Crater Boys to get the feeling right.   Little smiles from a big soul. Happy Easter everyone.

Improvise

Since baby’s little stunt last night, we ended up doing a Trader Joe’s run & dinnering at home.  Filet mignon, green beans & mushroom pesto ravioli. Not quite Indian, but a very happy & delicious meal.  Earlier we had a Togo’s sandwich. Pastrami Reuben. I do love my Reubens. I hadn’t had Togo’s since my college days. The UCLA cafeteria had many delightful options. Once my college roommate and I ate a wrapped sandwich we found…

No indian today, mom

Found a new Indian food spot in Albany but baby wasn’t about it.  I nursed the little babe in the car hoping to settle him so I could eat or at least grab some take out.  But nope. Baby says no. Cry, cry, cry. Good thing I have emergency snacks in the car because mama famished! Breastfeeding hunger is no joke. Do not starve your mamas! I will eat my child’s cheeks; rest assure he…

Piece of cake

Happy birthday to a beautiful girl Rhon Rhon!  How lovely it is to celebrate with you with all you can eat hot pot. Kafuya Japanese restaurant in the Outer Richmond is perfect for large parties. No pictures of the food because I was too intensely eating.  The macaroons were the most adorable thing, much like the birthday girl. Bunnies. A special Stitch mac that was indeed out of this world. A splendid tiramisu cake…

Darkside

Poor little baby is feverish after his vaccinations yesterday.  A little hot potato.  Our afternoon plans were derailed after baby insisted on staying home. There is no wellness when your baby is not feeling good.  A quick meal, thanks to Amy. A freezer staple thanks to my nutritionalist while I was pregnant. I bought them, I just never ate them (much to the dismay of HB).  Finally it’s time as our fridge is looking thin…
