Waterbaby

After much anticipation, Eggsy makes his water debut! A wonderful day at auntie Rhon Rhon & uncle Allen’s. Luckily, baby Z generously shared his crab floaty so Eggsy could get acclimated.  A beautiful sunny day in South San Francisco.  The night before we carboloaded on ramen & sushi. It was national sushi day after all.   Sawaii Ramen was packed as per usual. Crowded & noisy place=takeout for us.   Spicy tonkatsu ramen with extra…

My little darling

A day with the roses

A perfect day yesterday with dim sum with family & a walk through San Francisco’s rose garden.     Baby looks up to Tai Guang. My grandpa has the best taste in dim sum. My family always gets the gai lan for me. It’s the staple dim sum vegetable.  Instead of a plate of liver (our usual), we got the liver rice noodle. This is superb. The liver at this Outer Richmond establishment is tender, moist…

Carolyne, it’s your birthday!

Happy birthday to my darling friend Carolyne.  You & I have been friends a very long time. Since middle school we have waxed & waned in our lives.  No matter the time or distance, we can always pick up where we left off.  My wish for your birthday: That you trust yourself in your decisions. That you treat yourself with the same kindness that you treat your friends & loved ones. That you be patient…

Intention

Having a family is challenging. Being married is too.  I have three intentions for my family & I. Simple goals to focus on to build on the integrity & strength of our relationships.  For my son. Be present. It’s easy to be distracted while taking care of the little guy & sometimes you have to be. But a lot of the time you don’t have to be. I’ll try to maximize our time together by…

Afterparty

After a big night out celebrating the Phus, our afterparty consisted of coming home to see our babe.  Thank goodness for the sweet Smity for watching over Eggsy. Though the poor little guy cried himself to sleep, he was in good spirits upon our return.  Our Sunday brunch was a homemade one. Whole wheat banana pancakes, fluffy eggs & sausage. Fruit, avo, & carrots too.   Eggsy has yet to try his namesake. I was…

The big deal

Congrats to the Phus!

A memorable night at Tank 18 in the city last night. Big Congrats to Tony & Jen on tying the knot!  A beautiful venue with glittering lights & a wide open space to house all the family & friends that love this couple.  My mission: try all of the offerings from the food trucks at the wedding.  Chairman Bao & a mysterious taco truck (mysterious to me, anyways) was omnipresent. A spot by the door…

The irony

This kid is getting so big. A picture of his budding size is captured above.  Babies are ironic. When they are tired, they expend extra energy to whine, toss, kick you until all of their reserves are dry and then after running on fumes for a while longer… Finally pass out.  At least my kid is like this.  Every night he fights with me & terrorizes the already agonizing pain of my tendonitis. Before when…

The big sipper

Baby drank from a straw tonight! Mostly it was backwash but hey, he sucked & water came up. Pretty awesome.  Last night we had homemade pork cutlet.   It was the old days in law school where we had the deep fryer. Both a blessing & a curse.  Had some Boston Market for lunch. Half a chicken. Whoo wee, a party.    A little QT with Carolyne before she takes flight once more. Some creamy…

Feast

Pork belly mango lettuce wraps at Nordstrom Cafe. My favorite mall eatery. The casualness of mall dining with the festivity of delicious food.  The wraps were visually appealing but weren’t nearly as pleasing as their kids menu.  I bravely ordered from it, holding baby, knowing it is home to some of the cafe’s best dishes. The grilled cheese with tomato soup is heartwarming & tasty.   The real winner tonight was the mac & cheese.…
